I’m a 48-year-old, plus-size, single woman on a journey to becoming a Single Mother by Choice (SMBC). My goal is to create a space and voice for the community that I wish I could find when I began my IVF journey. A community of bigger, older, solo mothers-to-be.

I’ve dreamed of being a mother for many years, and for lots of reasons it just hasn’t happened yet. Perceived barriers to fertility such as my age, my BMI, and my single status prevented me from considering IVF as an option for many years. And then I did my research, remembered that I CAN DO HARD THINGS, I sought out the right medical team to support me, and I went for it!
